Many of Section 9’s Best Preparing For the 2015 Journeymen Classic

Nearly 50 Nationally Ranked Wrestlers Registered!

Jmen logoFor many wrestling fans, the Journeymen Classic serves as a welcomed reminder that the high school wrestling season is right around the corner!  In just a few short years this event has become one of the premier high school wrestling tournaments in the nation.  The 2015 Journeymen Classic will be a two-day event taking place on October 3rd and 4th at the Union College Memorial Fieldhouse in Schenectady, NY.  The main event, The Classic, takes place on Sunday and will be covered by FloWrestling. Saturday’s action is known as the OverFlo Tournament.  It serves as a qualifier for the Classic because the top pool winners in many of the weight classes will gain admission to Sunday’s main event!

Section 9 will be very well represented at this year’s Journeymen Classic.  SectionIXWrestling will be in attendance for the event and provide up to date results for our local wrestlers.  Best of luck men!

S9 Team 2-2 at Waterway Duals

Congratulations to the Orange County Warriors for going 2-2 at this weekend’s Waterway Duals in Oxford, PA.  The WW Duals is one of the toughest preseason dual tournaments in the nation!  Nearly every member of the OC Warriors attends Monroe Woodbury High School making them one of the few teams at the event that was, basically, a HS team.  Most of the other teams at the tournament were all-star laden club teams.  Special congrats to Evan Barczak, Kendall Elfstrum, and Nick McShea for finishing the day undefeated!  Great job guys!!
