Congratulations to Port Jervis senior Charie Wylie and Minisink Valley junior Sara Pauls for winning GOLD at the 2026 NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Championships. Wylie, now a 2X NYS girls champion, also placed in the D2 boys’ division in 2023. She won the title this year at 107 pounds. Sara was your champion at 126 pounds after placing second in NYS last season! Section 9 had two other finalists who took home the silver medal – Gigi Sullivan from Monroe Woodbury and Victoria Alvarado from Warwick Valley. Section 9 also had three teams finish in the top 15 in the team race. Minisink Valley finished in 3rd place, Valley Central placed 4th, and Monroe Woodbury finished in 13th place.
