New York Ironmen Wrestle at “Match Against Leukemia”

IronmenLeukemiaThe New York Ironmen Wrestling Club attended the Annual “Match Against Leukemia” a fund raising event to benefit Leukemia cure research.  The Ironmen have been at this great event from day one.

For the second year in a row, Ironmen have won the trophy for “Champions Against Leukemia” by raising the most money.  Our wrestlers from Section 1 and Section 9 raised $2000 for this benefit.  Coach Baker gave This year’s honor of being keeper of the trophy to Tristan Sciafo of Red Hook, for raising the most money by one individual.

The Ironmen team consisted of club members who are new and up-coming Section 1 and Section 9 wrestlers, and a few tried and true warriors.  Much more will be heard about this group of talented young wresters next season. It is also worthy to note that Cuomo declined a chance to wrestle at an elite national event to help out this great cause, and he also went undefeated.
