MW Senior Elfstrum Takes 7th at 182; Goshen’s Fea Champ in the MS Division
Congratulations to Monroe Woodbury senior Kendall Elfstrum for placing 7th at 182 pounds at the 2016 Super 32 Challenge. The Super 32 is without question the toughest preseason high school wrestling tournament in the nation. This year’s tournament boasted over 80 nationally ranked wrestlers. Elstrum’s weight class was one of the toughest weights this year with 4 top 20 ranked 182 pounders and one ranked 195 pounder! Elfstrum won his first match, dropped his second, then reeled off 5 straight wins in the consies before losing a 3-2 decision to the 18th ranked 195 pounder in the nation according to Flo, Khamari Whimper. Elfstrum took 7th by defeating fellow NY state placer Clifton Wang 4-3. Great job Kendall!!!
Goshen’s Nicky Fea was absolutely dominating in his march to the 80 pound title in the middle school division. Fea notched 2 pins, a major and 2 shut out decisions including a 5-0 victory in the title match! Congratulations Nicky!
