Let’s take a “By the Numbers” look at the history of the Section 9 Wrestling Championships! Most of the information I am posting has be provided to me by our current Section 9 Wrestling chairperson, Jeff Cuilty. Jeff is a NYSPHSAA and National Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee. He served as NFA’s head coach from 1988-89 until 2011-12. Cuilty then took the reigns at Wallkill and served as their head coach from 2012-13 until 2016-17. He retired from coaching with 432 career wins ranking him 3rd in Section 9 history. Along with serving as the Section 9 chair, Cuilty is also the of tournament director for the Eastern States Wrestling Classic. Jeff, thank you for everything that you do for Section 9 Wrestling!
