Battle at the Beach
Valley Central crowned two champions and had one other finalist at the 2023 Battle at the Beach tournament. EJ Vass won the title at 108 by taking out 2023 state place winner Ethan Andruela from Long Beach in the finals. 2023 state champion Luke Satriano dominated the competition notching four pins and a tech fall on his way to the title at 131! At 138, Richie Degon made it all the way to the finals before falling to last year’s state finalist at 126, Joe Clem from Wantagh. Great job boys!

Port Jervis had three champs, three second place finishers, and one wrestler finish in third place. Justin Jones was the champ at 101, Ryan Ross took the title at 160 while Matt Oosterom was the top dog at 215! Charlie Wylie, Maddox McCormick, and Justin Harrison placed 2nd for Port Jervis while Nick Oosterom took the bronze!
Reese Greathouse from Marlboro took home the title at 138 while Quin Jones from Highland placed 2nd at 160. Highland’s Bradley Gatto and Trucker Vett both placed 4th while Lorenzo Caserto from Marlboro took 5th.
