According to the brackets for the Big 10 Gallo had 3 pins in 4:11 but Joey Butler had 3 pins in 2:22. Butler should have gotten the pin trophy.
Gallo was awarded the pin title because one of Butler’s pins was in an out-bracket match. In several of the weight classes there were only 8 wrestlers entered so they decided to begin the “clock” on the aggregate pin award at the quarter final round.
Who was the knothead who made that decision? It’s an aggregate pin award.
