The 2011 – 2012 wrestling campaign officially begins this weekend as many of our Section 9 teams will participate in some very competitive early season tournaments.  Defending Section 9 champions Warwick and NFA will both travel to Long Island to take on some stiff competition at the MacArthur Tournament and Herricks Tournament, respectively.  Monroe Woodbury will head down to Section 1 to compete at the Tony Carlucci Tournament held at SUNY Purchase while Monticello’s bus will head in the opposite direction and journey up to Section 2 for the Voorheeseville Tournament.

The largest contingent of local teams, however, will be found at the Kingston Tiger Duals where Middletown, Pine Bush, Wallkill, Washingtonville, Saugerties, Onteora, Red Hook, Valley Central, and, of course, Kingston will kick-off their seasons.  Good luck to all of our Section 9 teams!  Results will be posted as soon as we get them!  To view a schedule for all of the action of the coming week, click on the link below!

Over 200 Attend Askren Clinic!!!

2X NCAA Champ Askren gives instruction while 4X Section 9 Champ Connolly awaits his fate!!!

Thanks to the generosity of Forever Fierce, over 200 wrestlers, coaches, and parents were able to attend a free wrestling clinic on Friday at Middletown High School.  Those in attendance were treated to outstanding instruction given by a special guest technician… 2X NCAA Champion and 2008 Olympian Ben Askren.  Askren, a University of Missouri graduate, has successfully transitioned into MMA and is currently the Bellator Welterweight Champion.  This event was a great way for wrestlers, coaches, parents, and fans to get AMPED up for the upcoming season!  Thank you again to Forever Fierce for funding this very special event!

Believe it or not, the season is almost here…Section 9 Duals start a week from Tuesday (December 6th)!!!!  Scroll down for Section 9 Duals schedule.
