Hofstra won eight of ten matches en route to a 27-6 victory over the Army Black Knights on Thursday at a match held in Christl Arena, West Point. 2009 Monroe Woodbury graduate Jamie Franco, a red-shirt sophomore for Hofstra, recorded a 2-1 victory over Army’s Jordan Thome at 133lbs. The Hofstra Pride won seven of the ten bouts enroute to recording a 25-12 victory over Wisconsin. The Hoftra (1-0) win was the first for new Head Wrestling Coach Rob Anspach. Wisconson dropped to 5-1 on the season.

Hofstra University red-shirt sophomore Jamie Franco placed 6th at 133 pounds in 2011 Binghamton Open held on Sunday in the West Gymnasium on the campus of SUNY Binghamton. Franco, a 2009 Monroe Woodbury graduate, went 4-3 on the day. Hofstra returns to action on Sunday, 11/20, in a home match against Wisconsin.
