The future of Section 9 wrestling was on display this past Sunday as Monroe Woodbury hosted the 2012 NYS Section 9 Youth State Qualifiers. The top six wrestlers from each weight class receive an invitation to compete in the NYS Youth State Tournament held at Bay Shore High School on Long Island on March 3rd and 4th.
The tournament ran very smoothly thanks in part to Tim Monahan, Bob Voelker, John Zsido, Chris Sweeney, Paul Smoot, and last but not least, NYS Section 9 USA Wrestling Chairman John Stramiello. Without the work and commitment of these people and their families, this rather complex tournament simply could not happen. Thank you all!

We will have the info on central sign-ups for Kids States in the next day. We are looking at doing two sign-ups, one in Middletown and one in Monroe. We just needed a couple of days to recover from the wekend.
The central sign-up dates for the 2012 USA Wrestling Kids States are on Saturday Feb. 18th in Middletown at Studio AYO on Rt. 211 from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm. The second date will be Tuesday Feb. 21st in Monroe at the MW high school from 6:00 pm- 8 pm. All fees and paperwork will be collected on those dates and forwarded as a section to the tournament director in Long Island.
