Rankings #7

Well we are getting closer and closer to our state qualifying tournaments.  The Section 9 Division 1 Championships will take place on Friday and Saturday February 14th and 15th at Monroe Woodbury High School.  The Division 2 Championships will be held on Sunday February 16th at Bard College.  The NYS Championships will take place two weeks later on Friday 2/28 and Saturday 3/1 at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY.

There were not too many changes in our rankings for this week.  At 138 we slid Brian Bucci from Saugerties into the #4 slot.  Cornwall’s Dan Storer moves up to #2 at 145 after his  victory over Minisink Valley’s Frankie Hernandez.  Nick Wentland, also from Minisink Valley, has moved up to the #2 position at 160 after his impressive victory over Cornwall’s Quinn Zsido up a weight at 170!  Rondout Valley’s Eric Morse returns to the rankings at #4 at 160 after his victory over Middletown’s Christian Matos.  There are no other changes for this week’s rankings.

Section 9 has several wrestlers who are on the radar on the state level and have received either a ranking or a mention in New York Wrestling News’ combined D1&D2 individual ranking.  Click here for complete list and full article from NYWN website.
