With very few major upsets at Day 1 of the Section 9 D1 wrestling championships fans can expect to see some great match-ups for Saturday’s semifinals and finals. Minisink Valley with their 12 semifinalists holds a slight edge over defending tournament champion Monroe Woodbury. The Crusaders have 11 in the semis and a total of 16 wrestlers still alive while the Warriors had two wrestlers lose in the round of 16 so they only have 14 alive for Day 2. Wallkill with their 9 semifinalists is in 3rd while Warwick and Middletown round off the top 5. Wrestling will get underway at 10:30 tomorrow in the Monroe Woodbury High School.
