NYSPHSAA Dual Meet Championship – The Road to #1

For the first time ever, the NYSPHSAA has a sanctioned dual meet championship to determine who are the best large school and small school teams in NYS. The one-day tournament will be held on Saturday 1/27 at the SRC Arena on the campus of Onondaga Community College in Syracuse. To qualify for the tournament, a team have won their Sectional Dual Meet Championship or receives a wildcard.  Three D1 wildcards and one D2 wildcard have been selected to round out the field.  Each division has 12 teams – 4 pools of 3 teams.  Pool winners will advance to the semis and finals to determine who is #1!

Division 1 Pools: 
Pool 1: #1 Wantagh, #8 Elmira, Fox Lane
Pool 2: #2 Minisink Valley, #7 Lancaster, Horseheads
Pool 3: #3 Spencerport, #6 Jamesville, Rocky Point
Pool 4: #4 Fulton, #5 Hilton, Shenendehowa

Division 2 Pools:
Pool 1: #1 Locust Valley, #8 Warrensburg, Peru
Pool 2: #2 Mt. Sinai, #7 Falconer, Gouverneur
Pool 3: #3 Central Valley, #6 Tioga, Port Jervis
Pool 4: #4 Norwich, #5 Canisteo-Greenwood, Pearl River

9:00 – MV vs Lancaster (mat 4); PJ – bye
10:30 – MV vs Horseheads (mat 4); PJ vs Central Valley (mat 7)
12:00 –  MV – bye; PJ vs Tioga (mat 7)

2:30 – Semifinals
6:00 – Finals

  1. How did they pick the wild cards ? ESM has a one loss I believe and a win over Rocky Point. Massapequa had 2 losses!
