Monroe Woodbury, Middletown, and Warwick all finished a perfect 5-0 for the tournament! By virtue of point differential criteria – MW 209, Middletown 193, Warwick 186 – Monroe Woodbury has been awarded the team title!! Congratulations to the Crusaders!!!

Mat Wars @ Roy C. Ketcham HS (Section 1)
Washingtonville senior Andrew Marchese went 5-0 and was the 132-pound champion at The Mat Wars! Marchese, who recently committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Castleton University was awarded Tournament MOW for his efforts today! Washingtonville had three other top-4 placers in Nathaniel Popko (4th @ 126), Dominic Gennaro (2nd @ 145), and Justin Callahan (2nd @ 215).

Stan Elinsky Tournament @ Deposit Hancock (Section 4)
Congratulations to Pine Bush for taking 3rd place in the team race at the 15-team Stan Elinsky Tournament! Other Section 9 teams at the tournament were Port Jervis (10th place), Ellenville (11th place), and Fallsburg/Tri-Valley (14th place). Port Jervis 110 pounder Trevor Tufano was the only Section 9 wrestler to win an individual title! The following Section 9 wrestlers placed in the top 6 at the tournament:

Russ Cordell Rotary Tournament @ Oneonta HS (Section 4)
Saugerties finished 8th in the team race at the 15-team Russ Cordell Rotary Tournament in Oneonta. The Sawyers had 7 wrestlers finish in the top 6 highlighted by Jimmy Bucci who made it all the way to the finals at 189 pounds. Let’s take a look at all of the place winners for Saugerties.
