West Point WC recently announced the addition of Minisink Valley grad Sofia
Macaluso to their RTC roster. Sofia will represent the club at the upcoming U23 Championships and World Team Trials, the Last Chance Qualifier and the Olympic Trials.
Macaluso has won a World Silver medal and is a multiple time All American.
“Adding a wrestler of Sofia’s ability is a huge boost to our RTC. We have longed to make connections in the Hudson Valley and this is an opportunity to do just that” said Scott Green, WPWC coach. “We are proud to support women’s wrestling and Sofia fits right into those plans”
Another WPWC athlete, Vayle-rae Baker recently won the senior national championship and will compete for a spot on the Olympic team in April.
