Congratulations to Minisink Valley for winning the team title at the 2023 Section 9 Wrestling JV Championships. The Warriors crowned 6 champions and had 4 other finalists on their way to the title. Middletown finished 2nd in the team race and had 5 finalists and 4 champions.

These will be the final individual rankings of the 2022-2023 season. The only rankings that truly matter will be settled next week at the Section 9 Wrestling Championships. The Division 1 tournament will take place on Friday (2/10) and Saturday (2/11) at Monroe Woodbury High School. The Division 2 tournament will take place on Sunday (2/12) at SUNY Ulster.

Ranking versus Seeding
As we approach the Section 9 tournaments, I feel it’s a good time to remind everyone the difference between rankings and seedings. Rankings are simply the opinion of the person doing the rankings. Tournaments such as the Section 9 tournament or the NYSPHSAA Championship tournament are seeded by a mathematical system. The seeding formula and rankings are completely unrelated. The rankings you see here, or on any other website for that matter, have absolutely no bearing on the seeding a wrestler receives – none!

102 Pounds – Division 1

NFA, Valley Central and Wallkill were all at the Jeff Cuilty Duals and there were no results that would cause a change in the top 4. Merli suffered a loss, but it was to a kid from Section 11. Soto pinned Futia. Vass pinned McNally at the Gene Brigham. This is where things get tricky… McNalley beat Sullivan from Monroe Woodbury 2-0 and Simpson from Minisink Valley beat McNally 5-4 utb at the Gene Brigham. Sullivan defeated Simpson twice this year 9-2 and 12-2. We’ll go with McNally as our new #5 and have Sullivan and Simpson as HM. Warwick’s Garret Judd is still one to watch here. In Division 2, Port Jervis’s Charlie Wylie made it to the finals of the Gene Brigham but was injured in the semis so forfeited to Vass in the finals. She also skipped the NYSPHSAA Girls Invitational to rest her injury in preparation for Sections and States. We will keep Saugerties 8th grader Chrisjohn at #2 but Lorenzo Caserto from Marlboro keeps winning and can’t be overlooked.

No reason to change anyone in Division 1 or Division 2 but definitely some noteworthy results. In a matchup between arguably the two best 110-pound wrestlers in NYS, Valley Central’s Luke Satriano lost a 7-6 barnburner at the Jeff Cuilty Duals to D2 stud Gavin Mangano from Section 11 Shoreham Wading River. Satriano also teched Judd at the Cuilty Duals. Elijah Brown from Monroe Woodbury had a great showing against Merli from NFA. The match was tied 4-4 after the 2nd period before Merli scored four unanswered points and won 8-4. Since our last rankings, Judd has notched wins over #5 Gennaro, HM Terpak, HM McCarthy, and HM Nieves. Busby has notched six wins since our last rankings and Gennaro came is 2nd at the Gary Tiger Ridgefield Challenge. Middletown’s Jared Lupian Reyes has a win over HM McCarthy and a 5-2 loss to Judd and has entered the conversation here at 110 D1 and Kingston’s Logan Shultis has some nice wins this year including wins over fellow HMs Lupian and Terpak. In Division 2 both Ingrassia and O’Lena have struggled since our last rankings however none of the losses were to Section 9 D2 wrestlers so they remain our top 2 here.

Wallkill’s Futia has won every match by bonus points since our last rankings, and he remains #1 followed by our new #2 Marco Giumarra from Cornwall. Wyatt Boice from Minisink Valley, who recorded a win by pin fall over Weeden from Valley Central, is our new #3 followed by Piazza from Monroe at #4 then Weeden at #5. Martin Jr. from Middletown and Burgos from Washingtonville are both having solid seasons and should be watched here. Division 2 118 has a lot of depth. Celestine from Red Hook is still our favorite followed by Gatto from Highland, but we cannot overlook Laskowski, Reed or Tittelback!

No need to make any changed at 126 although it is worth mentioning again that this will, without question, be one of the best weight classes to follow at the Section 9 D1 tournament! There are no fewer than a half of a dozen wrestlers who can win this bracket on any given day! If everyone stays at this weight it would make it one of the most wide-open weight classes that I have ever seen in my many years of following Section 9 wrestling. Kirker is still the top dog at D2 here, but he cannot look past Port Jervis sophomore Harrison!

Brown is still the clear #1 at 138 Division 1. His sights are set on a state title. Greco defeated McKernan is a razor close match! Could we see a rematch in the Section 9 semis? Greco also defeated #4 Norris and HM Caoili. New to the rankings is Washingtonville junior Jayce Goldberg who notched a nice win over Beacon’s Betancourt. Goldberg is our new #5 and Betancourt is now honorable mention along with Cornwall’s Caoili. On the Division 2 side, Massey defeated Van Dyke for the second time this year however both matches were very close. That could be a great D2 finals matchup but Brenon Thiel from Onteora is tough and could definitely make some noise here as can Connor Wilson from Our Lady of Lourdes who has gone the distance with Massey twice!

The only change at 145 Division 1 is that we flip flop Accardo and Rosenblum because of the head-to-head win by Accardo. Greiner is still looking great, and Brady from Goshen just keeps winning! Segali, who recently picked up career win #100, is very solid at #3 here. Zion Joseph from Middletown has a few very close losses to wrestlers above him – he can definitely be in the hunt at Sections. Division 2 at 145 is pretty loaded! Franco is #1 with his head-to-head win over defending champ Coiteux. Coiteux still looks great, and we have both Isaiah Hockx and Reese Greathouse here. Any one of these four wrestlers can win the Section 9 D2 title on any given day.

Cosgrove from Cornwall and Rizzo from Wallkill have traded wins recently, but we’ll go with Cosgrove at #3 because he has the most recent win. Morell from NFA drops to #5 followed by HMs Carcaterra and Holmes. Cole Cuppett is still our #1 in D2 followed by Jackson Bucci from Saugerties. Santangelo from Chester adds some depth to this weight and is honorable mention here.

Our top two in Division 2 are Christian Hockx from Saugerties and Frankie Shaw from Burke. Hockx looked great at state duals and Shaw just won the Edgemont tournament!

Filip is having an awesome year and is our clear #1. The MV senior defeated ESC 160-pound champion and Powerade place winner Gage LaPlante at the state duals. Cavallo from Cornwall stays at #2 followed by rival Joe Ponesse from NFA who is wrestling very well recently. Serafin from Washingtonville has a great record and our #5 this week is Mike Loundsbury from Minisink. Loundsbury has been wrestling very tough at 189 filling in for Ryder…at 172 he is going to be very competitive! Irvin Oestrich from Monticello, Annacone from Wallkill and Lamparillo from Goshen cannot be overlooked and will definitely be in contention for a sectional medal here at 172 D1. Chester senior Marcus Colon is still our #1 at 172 D2 followed by Nathan Towne from Ellenville.

He’s baaaaccckkkkk!!!! Minisink Valley junior Zack Ryder, the #1 ranked wrestler in the nation at his weight class, is officially back! Ryder made his 2022-2023 debut at the state dual meet tournament – three matches, three first period pins! His return makes 189 a very interesting weight class because our #2 wrestler, Braydon Pennell, and our #3 wrestler, Bryson Tibbs, are both returning state qualifiers who have the potential to place at this year’s state tournament. As you know, in Section 9 only two wrestlers per weight class can go to the state tournament. Will we see an epic semifinal between Pennell and Tibbs or will one of them take their chances up at 215? York has missed most of the season but has wins over #5 Leggett and HM Shammgod so he’s #4. Leggett, Shammgod and our other HMs Alex Khalil from Beacon and Liam Scott from Cornwall are all in the hunt here. Krauza and Maddox are on a crash course for a great Division 2 showdown at 189 but we cannot forget about Chester’s Akil Williams or Red Hook’s Cole Nelson who are definitely ones to watch!

Gallo is dominating the competition and is our clear #1 however #’s 2, 3, and 4 just got interesting. Vera has a win over Calloway…Calloway just defeated Furst and Furst has a pair of recent wins over Vera. We will go with Calloway at #2, Furst at #3 and Vera at #4 but these three wrestlers are clearly very equal! Vera has a recent win over Goshen senior Dante Joseph who stays at #5. Jacob DeJesus from Washingtonville is having a very solid sophomore year at 215 D1 and is a HM here. In D2 Port Jervis junior Matt Oosterom is the heavy favorite her and has the potential to improve on his 5th place showing at the state tournament in Albany. His biggest challenge at the D2 S9 tournament may come from Batista from OLL who is looking to make his second trip to Albany.

Monroe Woodbury senior Cam Dalton has steadily improved all season and has a very good chance of placing here so we’ll list him as our HM. In Division 2 we have a new #1 at 285! Luke Daniels from Red Hook takes over the top spot with a win by fall over Logan Ormond who now sits at #2. Daniels’s teammate Mark Paschal is having a very good season and is our HM here.

2023 NYSPHSAA Dual Meet Championships
Congratulations to Minisink Valley for making it all the way to the finals at Saturday’s NYSPHSAA Dual Meet Championships in Syracuse! The Warriors fell just short of winning the title for the third season in a row, falling to Section 6 Starpoint by a score of 35-27 in the finals. This is the Minisink’s fifth trip to the state dual meet championships. They have won twice and only have three losses at the tournament – all three losses have been to the eventual champion. Pretty incredible run! Saugerties was the Section 9 Division 2 representative. The Sawyers wrestled tough however lost both dual in their pool so they did not advance to the medal round. Congratulation to both programs!

2023 NYSPHSAA Dual Meet Championships – Results

2023 NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Invitational
Congratulations to Minisink Valley’s Sara Pauls for winning the 107-pound weight class at the inaugural NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Invitational. Pauls, only an 8th grader at Minisink, avenged an earlier season loss to Mora Peterson from Islip defeating her 1-0 in the finals. Peterson defeated Pauls in the finals of the Eastern States Classic. Pine Bush’s Brooke Tarshis made it all the way to the finals but had to settle for silver. The other Section 9 state place winners were Minisink Valley’s Keira Filip (4th @ 114), Saugerties’s Savannah Tittlebach (6th @ 114), Minisink Valley’s Jaida Macaluso (4th @ 126), and Libert’s Zoe Kip (4th @ 152). Congratulations to all of our Section 9 female wrestlers – you are trailblazers! This tournament has been “a long time coming” but it finally happened thanks to the work of many very dedicated people – nobody more dedicated than the Macaluso family. Congratulations to all!

Gene Brigham Memorial Tournament
Host Minisink Valley crowned six champions and placed fifteen wrestlers in the top 4 in winning the 2023 Gene Brigham Memorial Tournament. Winning titles for the Warriors were Luke Greiner (145), Quinten Morgan (160), Andrew Filip (172), Ethan Gallo (215), and Aiden Gove (285)…plus Jaida Macaluso won the 126-pound Girls Division bracket!. Minisink amassed 302 points followed by Bellport with 172, and Burnt Hills with 166. Shenendehowa and Unatego-Unadilla Valley tied for 4th place with 87 team points. Valley Central had two champions in EJ Vass, who won by medical forfeit at 102 over Port Jervis’s Charlie Wylie, and Luke Satriano at 110. Satriano defeated Division 2 hammer Caleb Cole by a score of 8-2 in the finals. Cole, a 4th placed finisher in the D2 state tournament last year, had only one loss on the season coming into today’s tournament and that loss was up at 118. Valley Central had a total of four top-4 place winners and took 6th in the team race. Pine Bush, who finished 7th in the team standings, had one champion in Braydon Pennell at 189. Pennell pinned his way to the title with three falls in 1:56! The Bushmen had three top-4 placers. Port Jervis finished 8th in the team race and had two top-4 finishers while Ellenville placed 9th and had one wrestler place in the top 4. Ethan Gallo was voted MOW and the Aggregate Pin Award was won by Andrew Filip who notched four pins in 6:36.

King and Queen Bison Invitational
Newburgh Free Academy finished 2nd in the team race at the King and Queen Bison Invitational in Shaker. The Goldbacks had two individual champions – William Soto at 102 and Joe Ponesse at 172. Kevin Segali placed 2nd at 145, Chris Leggett took 3rd at 189, and Matthew Mercado finished 5th at 126.

Goshen went 4-1 at the Mustang Duals in Mount Markham. Jacob Perales, Jackson Brady, and Kyle Kubik all went undefeated for the day.

With his Eastern States Classic title and Champion of Champions award, NFA freshman Cooper Merli has made it very easy to rank him #1 at 102 pounds in Division 1. He is without question going to be one of the favorites to win a state title in Albany in February. Merli’s biggest competition in Section 9 could be from his teammate, William Soto, who placed 4th at the ESC. Vass and Futia stay at #3 and #4 respectively but we have a new #5 because it appears that Monroe Woodury 7th grader is wrestling more at 110 so we’ve replaced him with his teammate Kelly Sullivan who is also a 7th grader. Sullivan placed 2nd at the Kohl Tournament. Simpson from Minisink, McNally from Pine Bush, and Judd from Warwick are still names to watch here. In the small school division, we had another ESC champion as Port Jervis freshman Charlie Wyle was crowned girls champion at 100 pounds and she’s our #1 in S9 D2 at 102. Chrisjohn from Saugerties remains at #2 here but we need to keep an eye on Marlboro’s Lorenzo Caserto who just won the Highland Round Robin.

Satriano had an awesome ESC and remains top dog at 110 in Section 9 D1. The VC sophomore finished 3rd and avenged his only loss in the tournament in his 3rd/4th match. Monroe Woodbury 7th grader Elijah Brown has been wrestling exclusively at 110 so we are ranking him here for now….and with his head-to-head wins over Judd and Gennaro, he’s breaking in at #2 at 110! Brown defeated our #3 Judd 10-9 and beat #5 Gennaro 12-6. He also took first at the Kohl Tournament. Busby notched a 2-0 win over Gennaro, so he slots in at #4 here. Wallkill’s McCarthy drops to HM for now but he’s definitely in the mix here as is Stetson Terpak from Minisink, Miguel Nieves from Middletown, Keaton Venarchick from Cornwall, and Logan Logan Shultis from Kingston. Our D2 rankings at 110 remain the same however the gap has defintely closed! Our top ranked wrestler, Ingrassia from Saugerties, pinned our #2, O’Lena from Port Jervis, back on 12/19. At the Section 9 Duals on 1/10, Ingrassia defeated O’Lena by a 5-4 margin! Will we see round 3 between these two at the Section 9 D2 finals?

Wallkill senior Rocco Futia is looking better and better at 118! Futia picked up some huge wins at the Eastern States and ended up finishing 5th in an extremely tough bracket! Valley Central’s Weeden drops down to 118 and he is our new #2 in D1! Piazza looks very tough and remains #3 here followed by our new #4, Marco Giumarra. The Cornwall senior gave Futia all he could handle, losing 4-2 at the Section 9 Duals and then Giumarra defeated Minisink’s Wyatt Boice the next day. Boice is now at #5 here and he has HM Erik Martin Jr. from Middletown nipping at his heels. Martin has notched a few nice wins recently, namely Perales and Busby, and has earned his way onto the board. Washingtonville’s Jacob Burgos is having a very nice year and should be watched here. Division 2 at 118 just got interesting as Gatto from Highland has dropped down and is our new #2 behind Red Hook’s Celestine who is having a very good year. Alyssa Reed from Port Jervis and Savannah Tittelback from Saugerties have traded pins against each other this year are definitely contenders here and we shouldn’t overlook Nick Laskowski from Rondout Valley because he has wins over both Tittelback and Reed!

126 is going to be an awesome weight class to follow at the Section 9 tournament…it’s also the most difficult to rank at this point of the season. Warwick’s Petzold has dropped down to 126 is our new #1 here. Petzold has wins over HM Racz and our new #2, Maxim Javorsky from Monroe Woodbury. Javorsky has been on fire and has posted wins over our #3, JoJo Uhrig from Minisink Valley and our #4 Matt Mercado from NFA. Uhrig had a razor close 1-0 win over Mercado at the S9 Duals. VC’s Richie Degon was the toughest wrestler to rank. He has a win over Petzold a few weeks ago but has a recent loss to Mercado. We have him at $5 but he could very well be the top kid here! Plenty of solid HW wrestlers at 126 including Viktor Banda from Wallkill, Anthony Valicenti from Cornwall, Richard Urena from Pine Bush, and Jacob Perales from Goshen! On the Division 2 side Red Hook senior is our top dog and he is having a great year. Gatto from Highland has dropped to 118, so our new #2 at 126 is Port Jervis sophomore Justin Harrison.

Tresch from Minisink Valley is having a great season and is our #1 wrestler at 132 in Division 1. Our new #2 is Monroe Woodbury freshman Liam Hayes who had been wrestling at 126 but has been up at 132 since January 4th. Logan Pennell from Pine Bush is very solid at #3 and he is followed by two Middletown wrestlers – Jacob Roger is our #4 and DJ Aviles is our #5. Michael Lombardi from Goshen is having a solid year and is an HM here at 132. Saugerties senior Anthony Denier is continuing to have a great season and is our top wrestler at 132 in Division 2. We have a new #2 here as Red Hook’s Shane Cranna notched a head-to-head over previous #2 Shields, so Cranna is now #2 and Shields is our HM.

No changes in either division at 138 but some interesting results. At the ESC, Monroe Woodbury’s Jordan Brown teched Warwick’s Alex Greco in the quarterfinals in a battle of former state place winners. Brown went on to place 3rd at the Classic while Greco went 2-2 and did not place. McKernan from Minisink went 1-2 at ESC and could potentially lock horns with Greco on Friday at the Minisink versus Warwick dual in Slate Hill. Norris stays at #4 while Betancourt stays at #5 but HM Caoili from Cornwall is right in the mix. On the D2 side, Massey from Red Hook and Dyke from Saugerties wrestled in the finals of the Section 9 Duals and it was Massey coming out on top with a 7-5 decision.

I have a feeling that 145 and 152 are going to bleed into each other at the D1 S9 tournament in a few weeks! At 145 Luke Greiner from Minisink Valley is the clear favorite and he’s having a great year. Goshen’s Jackson Brady is our #2 here and he had a solid ESC going 2-2 with both losses coming to tournament place winners. Kevin Segali is very solid at #3 followed by our new #4, Michael Rosenblum from MW, and our new #5 Michael Accardo from Warwick. Minisink freshman Zack Filip was ranked here but seems to be wrestling mare at 152 so we moved him up for now. Charlot from MW and Rizzo from Wallkill could also contend here and with his 4-2 loss to Jackson Brady, Middletown’s Zion Joseph has announced himself as a wrestler to watch here! In Division 2 we have a new #1 as Chester’s Michael Franco has dropped down from 152 and notched a 5-2 decision over previous top dog Coiteux from New Paltz. Franco also majored Massey from Red Hook, who bumped up from 138, at the S9 Duals. Greathouse from Marlboro and Isaiah Hockx from Saugerties will make this a very tough weight at the D2 tournament if all four wrestlers stay at this weight!

152 Pounds – Division 1

As I mentioned earlier, D1 145 and D1 152 could see some movement between the two weight classes at the Section 9 tournament. With Duke out for the season, this class is wide open! Our previous #1 was Brandon Carcaterra from Monroe Woodbury however, he’s lost two matches since our last ranking and he drops all the way to #4. Ibrahim Aljamal from Washingtonville is having a very good year and he takes over the top spot followed by Minisink freshman Zack Filip who was one of the wrestlers who has recently defeated Carcaterra. Mateo Morell from NFA, also a freshman, notched a nice win over Carcaterra so he’s our new #3. Carcaterra is at #4 and he’s followed by Cornwall junior Cosgrove. Filip also has a win by fall over Cosgrove. In Division 2 we have a clear #1 in Cole Cuppett from New Paltz. Cuppett went 1-2 at the ESC and he has a win by fall over our new #2, Jackson Bucci from Saugerties. Bucci is having a great year and he’s dangerous! Throw Chester’s Tyler Santangelo into the mix and S9 D2 152 will be great to watch in February!

160 Pounds – Division 1

Cornwall senior Tyler Reed had a very good showing and placed 7th at the Eastern States Classic. Reed’s only two losses at SUNY Sullivan were 5-4 utb to the 3rd place finisher and 10-8 sv to the 4th place finisher. He’s as good as any 160-pound wrestler in NYS. Morgan from Minisink continues to look great and is very solid at #2 followed by Martini from Wallkill who went 1-2 at the ESC. Grant from Monroe gave Morgan all he could handle at the S9 Duals and is at #4 and we have a new #5 in Dan Weeden from Goshen. Weeden has a couple very solid wins this year namely over Yahir Hernandez from Middletown and Musa Algama from Washingtonville who should both be on our radar here. Plus, we cannot overlook Hunter Hecht from NFA who has been ranked previously. No changes in Division 2 at 160. Christian Hockx stays in the top spot followed by Burke junior Frankie Shaw.

Having pinned our #2 and #3 ranked wrestlers at 172 withing the past 10 days, Andrew Filip is our clear #1 here. The Minisink Valley senior finished 4th in NYS last year and has his sights set on the top step of the podium this year. Filip placed 2nd at the ESC with his loss coming to Braidon Woodward who is a D2 wrestler. Cavallo from Cornwall is our #2 here. He went 2-2 at the Eastern States and he has two wins this season over our #3 at this weight, Joe Ponesse from NFA. Ponesse won the Kohl Tournament and his only loss in 2023 has been to Filip. Serafin from Washingtonville stays at #4. His only wrestled loss this year has been to Ponesse. Our new #5 this week is Anthony Annacone from Wallkill who is having a great year however we cannot overlook Michael Loundsbury from Minisink Valley, Paul Lamparillo from Goshen, and Nicholas Hansen from Monroe Woodbury. In Division 2 Chester’s Marcus Colon is having a great year and is our #1 at 172. Colon has not lost to a local wrestler, and he just finished 2nd at the Henrick Hudson Tournament. Ellenville’s Nathan Towne has seen limited action this year, but his only loss has been to ranked D1 wrestlers Serafin so we will keep him as our #2 here at 172 D2.

No changes at 189 in either division. Braydon Pennell from Pine Bush is having an awesome season! He pinned his way through the Stan Elinsky Tournament placed 4th at the Eastern States Classic. Pennell also notched a win by pin over our #2 ranked wrestler at 189, Bryson Tibbs from Middletown. Tibbs is having a great season and has some very good wins including pins over Liam Scott from Cornwall and NFA’s Chris Leggett who sits at #4 right behind Nick York from Kingston who’s our #3. York missed most of the season but is wrestling regularly now and has wins over Leggett and Shammgod from MW who is a wrestler to watch here. Our #5 at 189 D1 is the aforementioned Cornwall senior Liam Scott who went 1-2 at the ESC. Our Lady of Lourdes senior Matt Krauza is our top ranked wrestler at 189 D2. Krauza took home the title at the Henrick Hudson Tournament and still has only one loss on the year – the finals of the Mid-Hudson. Krauza’s closest win this year was a 5-4 decision over Port Jervis sophomore Maddox McCormick who is our #2 here. This has the potential to be a great final at the S9 D2 tournament! Akil Williams from Chester cannot be overlooked at this weight!

215 Pounds – Division 1

Ethan Gallo has left no doubt over who is the best 215-pound wrestler in Section 9 D1. The Minisink Valley senior just placed 2nd in perhaps the toughest bracket at the Eastern States Classic and has laser focus on garnering his second state title in Albany in February. Gallo’s only loss at ESC was to a nationally ranked D2 wrestler – Gallo himself is ranked 14th in the nation by MatScouts and 12th by FloWrestling. Gavin Furst from Cornwall is our #2 here and he went 2-2 at ESC. Our new #3 at 215 D1 is Fernand Vera from Middletown. Vera has notch recent wins over Jayden Calloway from Beacon and Dante Joseph from Goshen who were previously #3 and #4 but have now dropped to #4 and #5. Equally as dominant on the Division 2 side at 215 is Matt Oosterom. The Port Jervis junior, who placed 5th in NYS last season, went 2-2 at the ESC and had a win by pinfall over Furst from Cornwall. Batista from Our Lady of Lourdes has seen limited action thus far this year but has some solid wins and he was a state qualifier last year so we will keep him at #2 at 215 D2.

Middletown junior Stephan Monchery just keeps getting better and better! We can add “2023 Eastern States Classic – Champion” to his list of accolades! Monchery not only won the tournament, but he did so in convincing fashion by pinning returning state finalist Sebastian Regis from East Islip in the finals! We have a new #2 at 285 D1 in Aiden DeEntremont. The Goshen senior placed 8th at the ESC and he also notched a win by fall at the Section 9 Duals over previous #2, Rahmiere Bradley from Middletown. Bradley, a 2022 state qualifier, is still having a great season and is now #3 here. Minisink senior Aiden Gove went 2-2 at ESC and cannot be overlooked. He sits at #4 at 285 D1 and Monticello’s Jesse Corces has been extremely impressive but in limited action this year. Corces’s only loss this year has been to Oosterom from Port Jervis. The 285-weight class in S9 D2 could be great to watch in February! Our #1 here is New Paltz senior Logan Ormond who looked great at ESC. Ormond made it all the way to the semis and placed 5th in a very tough bracket. Our 2nd ranked wrestler here is Luke Daniels from Red Hook who recently took 3rd at the Mormile Tournament and then pinned his way through the Scarsdale Tournament.
